Essential oils can play an important role in holistic wellness for pets, just as they do with people.
“Bug Off” is a unique essential oil blend developed by Hand To Paw to help your pet achieve natural protection for mosquitoes and ticks.
After much research, including attending seminars on essential oils for animals at Young Living, in Utah, Hand To Paw formulated “Bug Off” to include ingredients that best achieved this goal. It has already been diluted for you so that it is ready to use straight from the bottle.
“Zen Dog” ingredients include: essential oils of Lemon, Orange, Citronella, Lavender, Peppermint, Geranium, and Neem oils, with Almond oil, witch hazel and distilled water.
(Almond oil was chosen as the carrier oil as it, too, has natural repellant properties)
To use:
* Spay 1 pump behind each of your pets ears, along the line of their back, and the top half of each leg. You can also spray onto your own hands and then pet your dogs in these areas to achieve result.

*Spray 1-2 pumps on their collar, a bandana around their neck, or on their bedding.
*(Shake bottle to mix ingredients evenly before each new use.)
The sense of smell is even more developed in animals than people. This is why essential oils can be so helpful.
They can be used in different ways – such as through inhalation or topically. Depending on the oil and the animal, some are used “neat” (straight oil) and sometimes used diluted in a carrier oil (such as vegetable, almond, coconut, olive, jojoba, etc). With essential oils, a little goes a long way. If you are ever uncertain, dilute and start with the lowest effective amount. Also, when first using any new oil, watch your animal’s reactions to see which they like best.
